The 9th edition of the Udine Far East Film


The 9th edition of ' Udine Far East Film Festival, scheduled from 20 to 28 April, will offer the public some sixty titles. Japanese film festival opens with a preview of the Western fantasy Dororo , directed by Akihiko Shiota. Adapted from the manga by Osamu Tezuka, considered the father of Japanese comics, the film soon became home to the largest and most resounding commercial success of 2007. Dororo tells the legend of a samurai warrior forced to fight 48 demons to regain as many sections of the body. Spectacular and visionary, and at the same time funny and lighthearted, the film contains all of the surrealism of the comic from which it springs. The action sequences are signed by Ching Siu-tung, the Hong Kong master of arms, choreographer and director, in turn, known for his work, among others, on the sets of Shaolin Soccer by Stephen Chow and Hero by Zhang Yimou. Japan will be represented too, for the titles already announced, the sequel to Nana from catastrophic Sinking of Japan and "Titanic Japanese, Umizaru 2. > The official website of the Festival.
